Popular singer has died in a freak accident on stage

Tragically, 35-year-old Brazilian rock star Ayres Sasaki passed away on July 13 while performing in Salinopolis. During a soundcheck, he was hugged by a wet fan, which instantly killed him with an electric shock.

The incident is being looked into by authorities. Condolences were sent and cooperation was pledged by the Solar Hotel, the venue for the concert.

Sasaki, an urban planner and architect, had been married to Mariana for eleven months. Friends recall him as a good-hearted individual and a gifted musician.

Comedian Natto Almeida lauded his good nature and enduring legacy, while his close friend Adriano Freitas referred to him as the “king of encores.”
