Jennifer Garner announces death of her father William Garner at 85

Jennifer Garner shared a heartfelt tribute to her father, William Garner, following his passing on April 1. In a social media statement, the 51-year-old actress expressed the inevitability of grief and described it as “waiting around unexpected corners.”

Known for her close bond with her father, Garner previously celebrated her parents’ 59th wedding anniversary in January with a touching post on Instagram. Sharing family photos, she announced her father’s peaceful passing, mentioning they were singing Amazing Grace as he departed.

While acknowledging the natural course of life at 85, Garner expressed gratitude for her father’s gentle demeanor, mischievous smile, and unwavering support as a “girl dad.” She highlighted his work ethic, leadership, and faith, portraying him as a significant influence in her life.

William Garner had always been a pivotal figure for his daughter, playing a key role in her upbringing. Last September, Garner surprised him with a nostalgic gift for his 85th birthday—a ride in his childhood car, a 1948 Studebaker Champion, in their hometown of Charleston, West Virginia.
