When I discovered an incriminating notebook hidden in my husband’s office, I was convinced it pointed to something sinister. Determined to make him pay for what I believed was infidelity, I shared the information with a dear friend. But I was completely wrong!

My husband, Todd, is a successful businessman running a company with over fifty employees. His dedication to work often keeps him late at the office. While he prepared for an important conference, I decided to clean his office. There, I found a notebook with a list of fifteen female names. Eleven had plus signs next to them, which seemed incriminating.

I called my friend Lisa, who confirmed the names were of employees at Todd’s company. Convinced he was cheating, I rushed to Lisa’s apartment, where we brainstormed vengeful plans over wine.

The next day, I confronted Todd during his conference. Grabbing the microphone, I accused him of infidelity in front of everyone. Todd, however, calmly explained that the plus signs indicated employees who had repaid loans he gave them. He showed another list of male names with similar markings.
