9-year-old with cancer meets baby sister before he dies: whispers 10 words that break parents’ hearts

The most heartbreaking news a parent may ever hear was delivered to the family of a kid called Bailey Cooper. Their son was diagnosed with cancer. In 2016, the adorable kid received a Stage 3 Non-Hodgkin lymphoma diagnosis.

Suddenly, everything in his life revolved around medical appointments and therapies.

For a brief moment, everyone’s hopes for the best result were realized. Remission of the cancer was achieved, however it was short-lived.

When the family was informed that the cancer had returned, Bailey returned to school and everything appeared to be as usual. Unfortunately, it required more chemotherapy treatments and hospital stays. Once more, it appeared that the therapies were effective, and Bailey began to feel better.

The devastating news that the cancer had returned yet again in August arrived, and this time the prognosis was bleak.

“[The consultant] informed us of the news,” Bailey’s father, Lee, stated. “It was significantly worse in late Stage Four. It was really hostile.

The malignancy had spread rapidly. Bailey’s stomach, liver, lungs, and chest all had masses discovered by the doctors. He was given days, possibly weeks, to live.

Bailey was devastated to hear the devastating news, but he was also adamant about living to see his baby sister, who was due in a few months. We all hoped he would live that long.

The young youngster turned out to be a fighter, which was amazing. He had the opportunity to embrace his newborn sister in November. His parents even gave him the freedom to choose Millie as her name.

Bailey’s mother, Rachel, stated, “He hugged her and did everything an older brother would do — change her, wash her, sing to her.”

Following Millie’s birth, Bailey’s health declined.

Bailey’s parents urged him to write down the presents he desired in the hopes that they would be able to spend Christmas together. Bailey requested gifts he knew his younger brother Riley would like, displaying the same compassion he had displayed during his fight.

The extended family visited the residence to bid farewell shortly before Christmas. The young boy reprimanded Bailey’s grandmother as she sobbed and expressed her desire to replace him:

He informed her, “Nan, that is really self-centered.” “You need to look after your grandchildren.”

Bailey had to endure five excruciating days of radiation therapy after the cancer spread to his brain. He informed his family that it was time for him to leave at that point.

Regarding his younger sister, Bailey remarked, “I want to stay, but it’s my time to go, to become her guardian angel.”

Bailey lost consciousness on December 22 as the cancer spread throughout his small body. As he gradually faded away, his family remained by his side.

According to Rachel, “we sat there hour by hour, watching him slip away.” We listened to his favorite music and read him stories.

On Christmas Eve, we arrived at his bedside at 11:45 a.m. We were aware that it wouldn’t be long. “It’s time to go, Bailey,” we informed him. Stop.

One tear fell from Bailey’s eye at that very moment. After taking his last breath, he died quietly.

The family’s hearts were shattered by the terrible loss of their child, but they all knew that Bailey was at last at rest.

Lee remarked, “We are numb, but we are also somewhat relieved that he is no longer in pain.”

Their small kid was smart beyond his years, and they now attempt to fulfill his wishes.

“He told us at our most recent family meeting that you could only cry for 20 minutes,” Rachel said. “You must look after Riley and Millie.”

Although this boy’s story is tragic and heartbreaking, people all throughout the world are still motivated by his bravery, fortitude, and optimism in the face of suffering. Even though his family is devastated by his passing, they are confident that his legacy and brightness will endure.
