A woman, frustrated with her mother-in-law’s constant invasion of privacy, took matters into her own hands to catch her in the act. After discovering her mother-in-law snooping through bills in her bedroom, the woman installed doorknobs requiring a key for entry. Despite this, the mother-in-law continued attempting to access the restricted areas.

To expose her mother-in-law’s actions, the woman coated the doorknobs with glitter and rigged a glitter-filled folder to fall on the intruder when entering the room. When the mother-in-law ignored the request not to go upstairs and triggered the glitter trap, she became upset and accused the woman of going too far. The husband, caught in the middle, also expressed disapproval of the revenge tactic.

The woman sought advice on whether her actions were justified or if she had indeed gone too far in trying to address her mother-in-law’s intrusive behavior.
