Teacher and bride-to-be proposes to classroom asking her students to be bridesmaids and groomsmen

Organizing a wedding can be a daunting task, especially when deciding on who will stand beside you as bridesmaids and groomsmen. One creative teacher, however, came up with a unique and heartwarming solution.

Alexandra Stamps, a fifth-grade teacher at Science and Technology Elementary School in Wichita, Kansas, chose to include her students in her special day. She asked her students to be her bridesmaids and groomsmen, adding a personal and meaningful touch to her upcoming wedding. Alexandra, who was set to marry her fiancé, Mason McDowell, in July, had been dating him for nearly a year. Mason, also a teacher, supported the idea of including their students in their wedding.

The moment Alexandra asked her students to be part of her bridal party was captured on video and shared on TikTok. The clip quickly gained viral attention, amassing over 19 million views. In the video, she poses the question to her students, asking if they would be her junior bridesmaids and groomsmen, and their enthusiastic responses of “yes” reflect their excitement and joy.

For Alexandra, this decision was a way to honor the resilience and growth her students had shown throughout a challenging year, marked by the difficulties of the pandemic. Including them in such a significant event in her life was her way of recognizing their strength and the personal milestones they had achieved.

Before making the proposal to her students, Alexandra sought permission from their parents. To make the moment even more special, she gifted the girls faux pearl necklaces and the boys received colorful sunglasses. Following the big ask, the students were treated to rainbow-striped lollipops, adding a fun and playful element to the occasion.

This touching gesture illustrates the deep bond between a teacher and her students. By involving them in her wedding, Alexandra not only celebrated their hard work and achievements but also created memories that both she and her students will cherish for years to come.

The thoughtfulness and kindness of this teacher, along with her fiancé, highlights the strong connection between educators and their students. It’s a beautiful example of how teachers can impact their students’ lives in meaningful ways, while also making their own moments even more special. This story is truly a testament to the power of generosity and love.
