Prince was also known for taking his work to another level in concert, despite having already written major hits. The article identified a 1999 appearance at his Paisley Park estate in Minnesota as another of his most memorable live performances. The song at the center of the Hall of Fame tribute originated with The Beatles. “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” was released on November 22, 1968, on the group’s ninth studio album, The White Album. Harrison alone was credited as its songwriter, with George Martin serving as producer.

Compared with Paul McCartney and John Lennon, Harrison had fewer Beatles compositions included in the band’s catalog.
