The song itself, “Another One Bites the Dust,” holds a significant place in the band’s catalog. Originally released on August 22, 1980, as the fourth single from their eighth studio album, The Game, the track quickly achieved massive commercial success. It spent three weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 and remains Queen’s highest-selling single, having moved seven million units globally. It also earned a spot at number 34 on the Billboard All-time Top Songs list.

Bassist John Deacon wrote the track, marking one of his most vital contributions to the group’s discography. The song’s enduring popularity is clearly reflected in its modern digital performance. It currently stands as one of only three tracks by Queen to exceed two billion streams on Spotify, trailing only “Don’t Stop Me Now” and “Bohemian Rhapsody” in total play counts. This performance continues to be celebrated by fans who revisit the footage of this rare collaboration, highlighting the lasting impact of both the song and the artists involved. The recording remains a testament to the band’s ability to surprise audiences and maintain their status as global rock icons.
