In 2022, the group made the significant announcement of The Historic Farewell Tour. While this tour officially began in 2023 and was initially expected to conclude in 2024, the band’s plans have continued to evolve as they move through their final years. In December 2023, the group announced the Renegades & Juke Box Heroes Tour, a co-headlining venture with the band Styx. At this stage, Foreigner has not provided specific clarification on whether this North American summer tour serves as the absolute conclusion to their farewell series or if it represents an extension of their final touring efforts.
The eventual retirement of the band from the road is largely attributed to the health of Mick Jones. As the only remaining original member, Jones has been the driving force behind the group for decades. However, his health has been a concern since 2011, frequently forcing him to miss scheduled tour dates or perform only abbreviated sets. These persistent health challenges have resulted in his absence from all dates on the current farewell tour thus far. While the band has not yet confirmed the exact date of their final live performance, it is widely expected that Foreigner will conclude their touring career at some point in 2024.
