She later auditioned for America’s Got Talent with “Hallelujah” and A Great Big World’s “Say Something.” Mennel subsequently wrote on Instagram that the judges had given her four yes votes, allowing her to move forward to the judge cuts. She withdrew before reaching the point at which her vocals would have been evaluated there.

America’s Got Talent aired an extensively altered version that appeared to show her failing the audition, providing an explanation for why she was no longer on the program. The episode contained visible and audible inconsistencies: Simon Cowell’s spoken words did not correspond with his onscreen statements, and two black wristbands appeared and disappeared on his left wrist. These details lent support to Mennel’s account that the sequence had been misleadingly assembled after her audition. No complete unedited recording was ever released to the public.

After The Voice France, Mennel and her husband at the time relocated to Denver, Colorado. The couple later separated, after which she went back to Paris. She continued pursuing original music and used her YouTube and Instagram accounts to provide regular updates about her work.

Her subsequent catalog included a continuing series of singles as well as Ma voie, an eight-song album. The material retained elements that listeners of her television performance would recognize, particularly catchy compositions centered on piano and shaped by Eastern influences.
