Announcing the Loss

In his post, Brown wrote: “It is with great sadness that I report that we have lost Michael Forest. I knew him as an actor and loved him as a friend. I’m sure others will share, but that’s all I’m capable of right now.”

Alongside his message, Brown shared a photo of himself with Forest, as well as an image of the actor’s room at MorningStar Senior Living in Sparks, Nevada. The room’s nameplate read “Jerry Charlebois,” a nod to Forest’s birth name, Gerald Michael Charlebois.

Forest was born on April 17, 1929, in Harvey, North Dakota. His cause of death has not yet been confirmed.

A Beloved Career Remembered

Over the course of his career, Forest became a familiar presence on television, appearing in guest roles on The Twilight Zone and The Dick Van Dyke Show. He also appeared in Gunsmoke, Gilligan’s Island, Zorro, and The Outer Limits.

It was his role as Apollo in the 1967 Star Trek episode “Who Mourns for Adonais?” that secured his place in the hearts of science fiction fans for decades to come. He returned to that legacy repeatedly, making several appearances at Star Trek conventions over the years.

Forest’s work extended beyond television into film, where he appeared in several projects directed by Roger Corman. He also built a successful career as a voice actor, lending his talents to dubbing foreign films and voicing characters in animated productions.

His voice work included contributions to the Power Rangers and Dynasty Warriors franchises, as well as the widely played video game World of Warcraft. Across television, film, and voice acting, Forest built a body of work spanning decades and genres.

Rest in peace, Michael Forest. Our thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones.
