Sister’s Final Video Call With Nanny Killed in Palm Beach County Learjet Crash

Hours later, that joyful conversation would become one of the last memories her family had of her, after the Learjet she boarded crashed in Palm Beach County, Florida, killing all nine people aboard.

A Final Video Call

Known as Ana to those who loved her, Anita was a biomedical engineer who had moved from Colombia to the United States two years earlier. She was working as a nanny, accompanying the Robinson family on a birthday trip when the crash occurred.

The Crash in Palm Beach County

The Learjet went down from 35,000 feet, killing everyone aboard. Among the dead were the Robinson couple, their two young children, two family friends, and both pilots.

Angie told The US Sun she first encountered footage of the crash online. She then checked the flight path, trying to make sense of what she was seeing before allowing herself to believe the worst. Their mother confirmed the news to her the following morning.

Remembering Anita

Angie said her sister had cherished the children she cared for. Beyond their final video call, she holds onto memories of Anita’s support during her pregnancy, childbirth, and recovery in July, when her sister stayed close during a difficult time.

Anita had grown especially close to Angie’s baby boy, and the two sisters shared an unusually tight bond.
