It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of this legendary actor

At the age of 68, Ángel Salazar, who gained fame as Chi Chi in the cult classic *Scarface* in 1983, departed from this life. According to his agent and close friend Ann Wingsong, Salazar, who portrayed Al Pacino’s devoted sidekick in the movie, “died in his sleep over the weekend at a friend’s home in Brooklyn.”

After *Scarface*, Salazar went on to have a successful acting career, starring alongside Tom Hanks in *Punchline* and rejoining Pacino in *Carlito’s Way*. His roles in these movies demonstrated his range as an actor and brought him notoriety in the entertainment industry.

In addition, Salazar was well-known for his stand-up comedy, which he frequently showcased on *Last Comic Standing* and HBO specials. His fast wit and captivating performances won him over as a beloved figure in the comedy circuit thanks to his comedic talent.

Salazar has been working in the film industry lately; in 2022 and 2023, he had his last roles in *The Black Caesar* and *The Gilbert Diaries: The Movie*.

With his passing, Salazar’s varied and fruitful career in entertainment comes to an end. He left behind a lasting legacy in comedy and film that will be cherished by both colleagues and fans.
