On December 4, 2024, UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, 50, was shot and killed close to the Hilton hotel in Midtown Manhattan.
The gunman fired several times before escaping on foot and transferring to a rental bike, according to surveillance footage.
Police called the attack a “targeted act” and declared the victim dead at Mount Sinai West Hospital.
Although Thompson’s wife acknowledged that he had received threats, it is unclear why. While investigations continue, a $10,000 reward is being offered for information.
