RFK’s wife wants him to buy Washington home amidst infidelity rumors

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Buys $4.34M Georgetown Townhouse Amid Marriage Strain with Cheryl Hines

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has reportedly agreed to relocate to Washington, D.C., following his wife Cheryl Hines’ firm request, in an effort to strengthen their strained marriage. The couple recently purchased a $4.34 million townhouse in the historic Georgetown neighborhood, signaling a potential fresh start.

The move comes in the wake of allegations involving Kennedy’s communications with journalist Olivia Nuzzi—accusations that have reportedly created tension within their relationship.

A Luxurious Home in a Symbolic Location

The newly acquired 4,876-square-foot residence is a stately early-20th-century Georgetown row house. Nestled just one block from Wisconsin Avenue, it offers Kennedy a direct 15-minute commute to the White House—a location not only convenient but steeped in political heritage.

According to MEAWW News, the townhouse includes refined features such as a formal reception foyer, an open-plan living and dining space, and a luxurious master suite boasting a fireplace, cast iron tub, and steam shower.

Cheryl Hines Takes the Lead

Sources close to the couple suggest that the move was Hines’ initiative, driven by a desire to reassert stability and monitor her husband’s behavior more closely. The actress, known for her role on Curb Your Enthusiasm, reportedly issued a firm ultimatum.

“She wanted to live in Georgetown, in one of its spectacular row homes and she was very bossy about it, giving him an ultimatum to move her to DC forthwith, or face the wrath of God,”

reported **MEAWW News**, citing insiders familiar with the couple’s dynamic.

Though initially resistant, Kennedy ultimately yielded to Hines’ request, albeit with some pointed delegation.

“Ok, if you want to move to DC, you find the house, you deal with the real estate, I have the health of the country to deal with,”

he is quoted as saying.

A Marriage Under Pressure

This high-profile move follows long-standing rumors regarding Kennedy’s history of infidelity—allegations that have resurfaced over the years, including in his past marriages. The recent controversies involving journalist Olivia Nuzzi have only intensified scrutiny, reportedly leading Hines to take decisive steps to protect her marriage.

Despite the challenges, their decision to relocate to Washington is being interpreted by some as an effort to rebuild trust and reestablish a stronger foundation as a couple.

Echoes of the Kennedy Legacy

Hines’ desire to live in Georgetown also appears to be influenced by the Kennedy family’s deep-rooted ties to the capital. Georgetown was once home to Jacqueline Kennedy, and some sources suggest that Hines sees the move as a way to embrace that legacy more fully.

“She reportedly believes that living in Georgetown would align her more closely with the Kennedy family legacy,”

MEAWW News noted, hinting at the symbolic undertones of their new address.

A Strategic Move or a Temporary Fix?

While the luxurious home may offer a scenic and symbolic setting for healing, the couple’s decision to relocate raises questions about whether geography alone can address deeper relational issues. Some observers suggest that proximity might offer new opportunities for reconnection—though others remain skeptical.

As Kennedy continues his public campaign and health advocacy efforts, and Hines settles into a high-profile role in the capital, it remains to be seen whether their new home will truly mark a turning point—or serve as a temporary reprieve.
