Famous American Reality Star Dies at 79, Whole U.S.A. Is In Grief

Phil Robertson, star of Duck Dynasty, passed away. He was seventy-nine.

Months after announcing his Alzheimer’s diagnosis in December, the reality star’s family broke the news on Sunday, May 25, via a variety of social media posts.

“My dad has gone to be with the Lord today!” wrote Jase Robertson, Phil’s son, in a tribute post on X. We know he is in good hands, and our family is good because God is very good, but we will miss him! We will see him again!” as Phil’s granddaughter Sadie Robertson Huff commemorated his passing on Instagram with a collection of pictures of their well-known family taken over the years.

Willie Robertson and his wife Korie Robertson shared a joint Instagram post that read, “We celebrate today that our father, husband, and grandfather, Phil Robertson, is now with the Lord.”

“We know so many of you love him and have been impacted by his life,” the couple went on to say, partially adding, “Thank you for the love and prayers of so many whose lives have been impacted by his life.” We will soon provide information about a public celebration of his life, but for now, we are holding a private service.”

The Unashamed with the Robertson Family podcast’s December 6 episode was the first to reveal Phil’s Alzheimer’s diagnosis. Jase disclosed at the time that his father was in the “early stages” of the disease.

His father’s Alzheimer’s disease “accelerated, and it’s causing problems with his entire body,” he added, adding that he simply isn’t doing well. He’s having a lot of trouble.

Months later, Jase talked more about his dad’s health struggle in an April 2 podcast episode, informing listeners that Phil was “not good.”

“We’re doing everything we can to make him comfortable,” he added. That’s what you do, I believe.

A&E’s Duck Dynasty followed the Robertson family as they worked together at their family business, Duck Commander, including Phil and Kay Robertson, their three sons, Jase, Willie, and Jep, as well as a number of their grandchildren and staff.

Despite giving rise to several spinoffs, such as Going Si-Ral, Jep & Jessica: Growing the Dynasty, At Home with the Robertsons, and Duck Family Treasure, the series concluded in 2017 after 11 seasons. In January, A&E declared that Duck Dynasty: The Revival would be the show’s return to the network.

Since the conclusion of the well-liked show, the Robertson family has expanded as many of the younger cast members have begun families of their own.

The hunting company Duck Commander was founded and run by Phil, a native of Louisiana, who began the family business in 1972 with a duck call that is now patented. When Kay became pregnant with their first son at the age of 17, he married her.

A&E is anticipated to debut Duck Dynasty: The Revival this summer.
