31-Year-Old Motorcyclist Dies in Head-On Collision on SC-390 in Santa Catarina
A serious accident on the SC-390 highway, in the stretch that passes through the municipality of Ipira in the Midwest Region of Santa Catarina, resulted in the tragic death of a 31-year-old motorcyclist on Saturday afternoon, the 7th.
The victim was riding a high-performance BMW S1000 RR when the collision occurred. The motorcycle — known for its speed and significant market value — immediately drew the attention of authorities responding to the scene.
The crash also involved a Renault Sandero driven by a 30-year-old woman. The impact was head-on, greatly increasing the severity of both the damage and the injuries.
According to the Military Highway Police (PMRv), the motorcyclist crossed into the opposite lane while navigating a curve. That maneuver caused the direct collision with the oncoming vehicle.
Emergency teams responded quickly, but the motorcyclist did not survive. The driver of the Sandero received assistance at the scene.
Authorities continue to investigate the full circumstances of the incident, while the community mourns the loss of a young life on a dangerous stretch of highway.
