One of the most iconic photos of Princess Diana is the one taken in 1992 at the Taj Mahal, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The image, captured on “Lady Di’s Chair,” has been recreated by many, including Prince William and Kate Middleton. However, Meghan Markle did not replicate this pose during her visit to India.

Prince Harry revealed in his book “Spare” that he advised Meghan against taking a similar photo, which left her puzzled. Diana, known as “The People’s Princess,” became a symbol of compassion and charity, though her personal life was fraught with challenges after joining the Royal Family. Despite these challenges, she was a devoted mother, striving to give William and Harry a normal childhood.

Diana’s 1992 visit to India included a photo at the Taj Mahal that became symbolic of her troubled marriage to Prince Charles. Notably, Charles did not join her at the site, intensifying rumors about their strained relationship. The couple separated later that year and divorced in 1996.

Harry, protective of Meghan, did not want her to face comparisons with his mother. When Diana died in 1997, it deeply impacted her sons, leaving a lasting legacy.
