My Date Tricked Me into Babysitting His Kids While He Went Out with Another Woman – He’ll Never Forget My Epic Payback

Vanessa thinks her love life is finally taking a turn for the better when Mike invites her over to bond with his kids. But a shocking text during dinner exposes a startling betrayal. Vanessa discovers he has left their dinner abruptly to go on another date while she is looking after his kids. To teach him a lesson, Vanessa prepares an epic payback.

I sat on my cozy couch, thinking about Mike.

We had been dating for a few weeks, and things were going really well. He was charming and sweet, and he always seemed genuinely interested in me. I hadn’t felt this happy in a long time.

When he called me earlier that day, I could hear the excitement in his voice. “Vanessa, I’d love for you to come over this weekend. I want you to meet my kids and spend some time with us,” he said.

My heart skipped a beat. Meeting his kids was a big step. It made me feel special as if he was letting me play a significant part in his life.

I smiled and replied, “I’d love that, Mike. It means a lot that you want me to meet them.”

As I sat there, I couldn’t help but feel a mix of excitement and nervousness. I had never dated anyone with kids before, and I wanted to make a good impression. Mike’s kids were young, just seven and five years old.

He described the meeting as a “bonding” session, which made it sound even more important.

Mike and I met through mutual friends, and we hit it off immediately. At 37, he had a kind and confident demeanor that made me feel comfortable and valued. I was 35, and it felt like we were at similar stages in life, both looking for something meaningful.

I picked up my phone and called my best friend, Sarah, to share the news. “Sarah, guess what? Mike invited me over to meet his kids this weekend!”

Sarah sounded thrilled for me. “That’s amazing, Vanessa! It’s a big deal. He must really care about you.”

“I think so, too,” I said, feeling a warm glow inside. “I’m just a little nervous. What if they don’t like me?”

“Just be yourself,” Sarah reassured me. “You’re great with kids, and they’ll see that. Everything will be fine.”

I took a deep breath and felt a bit more confident. Sarah was right. I just needed to be myself. Mike liked me for who I was, and hopefully, his kids would too.

I spent the rest of the evening thinking about the upcoming weekend, imagining all the ways I could connect with Mike’s kids. I felt flattered and excited about this new step in our relationship, ready to embrace whatever came next.

The weekend finally arrived, and I found myself standing outside Mike’s place. As I walked in, I was impressed by the effort he had put into setting up the dinner.

The dining room looked beautiful, with a perfectly set table and soft lighting that made everything feel warm and inviting.

Mike greeted me with a smile, and I could see Lily and Ben peeking out from behind him. “Hey, Vanessa! Come on in. I want you to meet Lily and Ben,” he said.

I smiled and waved at the kids. “Hi, Lily. Hi, Ben. It’s so nice to meet you!”

They both giggled and Lily shyly said hello. We all sat down at the table, and I felt a little nervous but also excited.

The food smelled amazing, and the kids were adorable. We started eating, and the conversation flowed easily. We chatted and laughed, and I could feel the initial tension melting away.

Halfway through dinner, Mike’s phone rang.

He glanced at the screen and frowned. “I’m sorry, Vanessa, but I need to take this. It’s an emergency at work.”

I nodded, trying to hide my unease. “Of course, Mike. Go ahead.”

Mike spoke into the phone for a few minutes, then turned to me with an apologetic look. “I need to go into the office for a couple of hours. Do you think you could stay with the kids until I get back?”

I hesitated for a moment, feeling a bit uneasy about being left alone with Lily and Ben. But I wanted to be supportive and show Mike that I could handle it. So, being the nice person I am, I agreed. “Sure, Mike. I can stay with them.”

He gave me a grateful smile. “Thank you so much, Vanessa. I really appreciate it.”

After he left, I turned to the kids with a cheerful smile. “So, what do you guys want to do? We can play a game or watch a movie.”

Lily’s eyes lit up. “Can we play a game?”

“Of course,” I said, feeling more at ease. “Let’s find a fun one to play.”

Just as we were about to start a new game, my phone buzzed. I glanced at it and saw a text from Sarah.

“Nice dress! Red really suits you,” Sarah’s message read.

I frowned, confused. I hadn’t worn a red dress in a while. “What do you mean?” I quickly typed back.

A moment later, Sarah sent a photo. My heart sank as I looked at the image.

It was Mike at a fancy restaurant with a woman in a stunning red dress. They looked very cozy, laughing and leaning in close. A wave of shock and anger washed over me.

“That’s not me! What the hell! Sarah, where did you get this photo?” I texted, my hands shaking.

“From Lisa. She said she saw you two at the new Italian place downtown. I thought that woman was you,” Sarah replied.

I felt my stomach churn. How could Mike do this to me? He had left me with his kids, pretending it was an emergency at work while he was out with another woman.

I took a deep breath, trying to keep my composure for Lily and Ben’s sake. They didn’t need to see me upset.

“Guys, let’s pause the game for a minute,” I said, forcing a smile. “I need to make a quick call.”

I stepped into the living room and called Sarah. “I can’t believe this! Mike said he had an emergency at work,” I said, my voice trembling.

“I’m so sorry, Vanessa. I had no idea,” Sarah replied sympathetically.

“Thank you for telling me,” I said, trying to steady my emotions. “I need to figure out what to do.”

After hanging up, I sat on the couch, my mind racing. I couldn’t stay silent about this. I needed to confront Mike and find out the truth. I looked back at Lily and Ben, who were still playing happily. They deserved better, and so did I.

I got Lily and Ben ready and drove to the restaurant Sarah had mentioned. My heart pounded as I pulled into the parking lot. I took a deep breath, determined to confront Mike.

We walked into the upscale restaurant, and it didn’t take long to spot them. Mike was sitting at a table with the woman in red. His face turned pale as soon as he saw me.

“Vanessa?” he stuttered, looking caught off guard. “What are you doing here?”

I walked up to their table, and Mike quickly turned to his date, stammering, “Uh, this is Vanessa, the nanny. She, uh, watches the kids for me.”

I smiled sweetly. “Oh, Mike, I just brought the kids to see their dad. And remember, you need to pay me for this week? Double the price since it’s after hours.”

He looked confused but reached into his wallet and handed me a wad of cash. I counted it slowly, feeling the eyes of the entire restaurant on us.

“Thank you,” I said, then turned to his date. “By the way, I’m not actually the nanny. I’m the woman he had a date with tonight. He left me at his place to babysit his kids while he came here with you. Here, check out these romantic texts he sent me.”

I handed her my phone, and the woman Alyssa’s face turned red with anger as she read the messages. She glared at Mike, who was now sweating bullets.

“Mike, how could you?” Alyssa hissed, her voice shaking.

The kids started to cry, sensing the tension. I felt a pang of guilt for involving them in this, but they needed to know the truth about their dad.

“By the way, Mike, your nanny is quitting,” I said, tossing the cash back at him.

With that, I walked out of the restaurant with a chuckle.

Outside, I took a deep breath, the cool night air filling my lungs. I pulled out my phone and called for a ride home, knowing that I’d never let anyone take advantage of my kindness again.

As I waited, I glanced back and saw Alyssa storming out of the restaurant, leaving Mike behind with the crying kids. She looked furious, and Mike’s expression was one of pure panic.

I couldn’t help but smile, knowing that Mike had learned a valuable lesson tonight. Ladies, never let anyone take advantage of your kindness. Sometimes, a little payback is necessary to set things right.

What would you have done?
