‘Growing Pains’ Star Kirk Cameron, 53, Welcomes Grandbaby with Name Meaning ‘Dream’: Details & 10 Photos

Kirk Cameron recently became a grandfather after his daughter welcomed a baby girl with her husband. The excited grandpa shared a few glimpses of the newborn on Instagram.

Congratulations to actor and evangelist Kirk Cameron, 53, and his daughter, Ahna Cameron Bower. Ahna and her husband, Austin Bower, recently welcomed a baby girl, adding to their beautiful family. Kirk announced the joyous news on Instagram on August 1.

Kirk shared a carousel post of 10 images from the day his granddaughter was born. One picture shows him and his wife, Chelsea Noble, eagerly awaiting their granddaughter’s arrival at the hospital, with Kirk holding their dog.

Another image captures a heartwarming moment with Ahna lying in the hospital bed and her mom, Chelsea, by her side. Chelsea holds the baby as she leans in next to her daughter for the photo.

The fourth picture shows the new mom cradling her newborn close to her chest as the baby sleeps peacefully with her tiny arms stretched out.

A close-up snap of the baby moments after birth shows her snuggled up in a blanket with a cute beanie on her head.

Another photo shows Kirk’s daughter, Olivia Cameron, holding her niece while smiling for the camera in the hospital room.

The carousel continues with another adorable photo of the newborn baby girl in a white and beige onesie and a white cotton headband shaped like a bow.

Following this is another picture of the baby in the same outfit, smiling happily for the camera while lying on a comfy mini-mattress with her birthing details attached.

Another photo shows the baby yawning with her eyes closed while someone in a blue sweater nestles her in their arms.

The final photo in the series shows Kirk’s son, Jack Cameron, holding the baby while smiling down at her.

In the heartfelt caption accompanying Kirk’s post, he revealed the baby’s name: Maya Jeanne Noble Bower.

“Did you hear the news? My wife and I are new grandparents! Wow!! Our hearts are filled to overflowing. Our beautiful baby girl @ahnacameronbower & her husband @austinbbower just had a beautiful baby girl, Maya Jeanne Noble Bower, and we can hardly wait to spend every minute with her and shower her with love!❤️❤️,” Kirk wrote.

The “Growing Pains” star continued, “What a miraculous blessing new life is. We love you, Maya Jeanne.” Matching his excitement, Kirk’s sister, Candace Cameron Bure, commented, “Great aunt Candace can’t wait to meet her!!”

According to online sources, Maya’s name is associated with Indian traditions, meaning “dream” or “illusion” in Sanskrit. In Hebrew, it means “water,” derived from “Mayim,” and could also convey “from God.”

Ahna’s desire to become a loving mom was mentioned by her doting dad in his autobiography, “Still Growing.” A snippet from his memoir reads, “Her biggest dream is to be a good mom. Ahna has a natural compassion and tenderness that would’ve inspired Mother Teresa. And she’s such a girl — hats, gloves, heels, creams, nail polish, and perfumes. She’s 8 going on 28!”

Kirk and Ahna, a 5’5″ model signed to Donna Baldwin Agency, have always shared a close bond. From the many posts on his Instagram page, it’s clear Ahna means the world to her dad.

A standout post from January 2022 included beautiful photos from Ahna and Austin’s wedding. One picture showed Kirk proudly walking his daughter down the aisle.

Another depicted the two in conversation on Ahna’s big day, with Kirk looking at his daughter with love and pride.

The last two photos showed Ahna and Kirk dancing during the father-daughter dance on an outdoor wooden floor.

Kirk shared these images in honor of Ahna’s birthday, expressing his love and pride for her. At the end of his message, Kirk also mentioned Austin, wishing the two of them the best day as they celebrated Ahna’s birthday together.

Austin, a financial planning and analysis manager at All Aboard America and a Colorado State University graduate, and Ahna have been together for a while. They dated for years before getting engaged and married.

Austin seems to be in good standing with Ahna’s dad, as he was featured in one of Kirk’s famous Ahna birthday posts in 2018. Kirk shared a picture of Ahna, who had turned 19, and Austin enjoying a birthday breakfast together. Austin had come over to help Kirk make a special breakfast for Ahna and brought red roses for her special day.

As Ahna and Austin bask in the glow of becoming new parents, we wish them nothing but the best and extend our heartfelt congratulations to the beautiful family!
