My Teen Daughter Chose Her Cheating Dad over Me & Cut All Contact, Asks Me for Money Years Later

A woman decided to divorce her husband due to his infidelity, a choice that led to her losing custody of her daughter. Over time, her daughter distanced herself, convinced that her mother was a bad person. Years later, the daughter reconnected with her mother, but only after running out of money to pay for college.

This situation sparked a range of reactions from the Reddit community. Some users believed the woman was right in choosing to leave her assets to her goddaughter, arguing that the daughter’s motives for reconnecting were purely financial. They felt that family relationships should be built on genuine care, not financial interests.

On the other hand, some Redditors thought the woman’s decision was too harsh. They suggested she should try to rebuild the relationship with her daughter rather than focusing on her goddaughter. They pointed out that the daughter might have genuinely changed and that money shouldn’t be the defining factor in family ties.

In the end, the differing opinions highlighted the complexities of family dynamics and the difficulties of mending relationships after betrayal and estrangement.
