Before long, Clara fell head over heels in love with him, and when Bart proposed, she didn’t hesitate to say yes. She proudly wore the large diamond ring he gave her, unaware it was just another part of his scam.

Bart was always careful and calculated. He convinced Clara that he had a business opportunity that required $200,000, but his money was tied up. Despite his “reluctance” to take Clara’s money, she insisted on lending it to him. To reassure her, Bart even took Clara to his bank, showing her a printout of his account, which held $8.3 million, and gave her a withdrawal code as a safety measure. Satisfied, Clara wrote Bart a check for $200,000.
