(VIDEO)Coach Was Furious When His Players Disrespected National Anthem, So He Does THIS To Teach Them A Lesson!

Coaching basketball goes beyond teaching skills and strategies—it starts with instilling values like respect and gratitude for the opportunity to play. This privilege comes from the sacrifices made by those who fought for the freedoms enjoyed today, including athletes who paused their lives and education to serve in wars.

The tradition of singing the national anthem before major sporting events has evolved into a performance, often losing its deeper meaning. However, it’s crucial for players to understand its significance and show respect. As Virginia Tech basketball coach Buzz Williams explained, “I don’t mind Lady Gaga singing it, but these kids gotta learn why it’s being performed.”

Williams delivered a powerful and emotional lesson to his team, underscoring the importance of understanding and respecting the anthem and the values it represents, ensuring that athletes appreciate the context behind this longstanding tradition.
