‘This Is Unbelievable’: Reba McEntire Makes ‘Softie’ Co-Judge Cry on ‘The Voice’ Premiere, Igniting Reactions

Reba McEntire surprised everyone, including Snoop Dogg, when she used a new feature on “The Voice” to save a contestant. During the Blind Auditions, a video of contestant Kendall Eugene’s powerful performance of Morgan Wallen’s “Don’t Think Jesus” was shared. Despite the emotional delivery, none of the coaches turned their chairs to select him.

After Eugene’s performance, McEntire admitted she loved the song but hadn’t turned. When Eugene cheekily responded, “Should have turned,” McEntire agreed. Snoop Dogg explained that he didn’t turn around because he felt McEntire was the right coach for Eugene, even if she hadn’t yet selected him.

Then, McEntire surprised everyone by using the new Coach Replay button, which allows coaches a second chance to reconsider contestants. This unexpected decision led to cheers from the audience, fellow judges Gwen Stefani, Michael Bublé, and Snoop, and even brought Snoop Dogg to tears.

As McEntire explained, she regretted not turning for Eugene, and the Coach Replay button gave her the opportunity to fix that mistake. Snoop, clearly moved by the moment, encouraged McEntire to hug Eugene, while wiping away his own tears as the heartwarming scene unfolded.

This tender moment from Snoop surprised many fans who expressed their astonishment in the comment section of the video. One fan noted, “Who knew Snoop was such a softie,” while another commented on his emotional side, praising him for suggesting McEntire hug Eugene. Fans also appreciated McEntire’s decision to use the replay button, with one writing, “This is unbelievable, I cried when she used the button.”

Snoop’s respect for McEntire has been clear since he joined “The Voice.” In an earlier interview, he referred to her as a “national treasure” and praised her as a magnet for talent. The nickname “Reba Magnet-Tire” has even been coined on set, reflecting McEntire’s ability to draw contestants to her team.

Although new to the show, Snoop has quickly proven to be a force on “The Voice.” He’s already secured talented contestants, like 16-year-old ChrisDeo, who chose Snoop over Bublé after a stunning performance of Jason Mraz’s “I Won’t Give Up.” Another standout, Torre Blake, impressed Snoop with her rendition of Erykah Badu’s “On & On,” earning a spot on his team despite Gwen Stefani also turning for her.

In addition to his impressive coaching skills, Snoop has shown his versatility, surprising fans with his singing abilities during performances with the other coaches. When the judges kicked off the season with a rendition of the Eagles’ “Heartache Tonight,” Snoop, in a glitzy black suit, captivated the audience with his smooth vocals, complementing Bublé’s silky tones, McEntire’s lively country voice, and Stefani’s pop energy.

Snoop’s debut as a coach has been met with widespread approval. Fans who were initially skeptical have come around, praising his unique style and approach to coaching. His laid-back demeanor and unexpected vocal talent have solidified his place as a fan favorite on the show.

In addition to his coaching duties, Snoop has brought his own flair to “The Voice,” gifting standout contestants chains from Death Row Records, the iconic hip-hop label he now owns. His involvement in the show is shaping up to be one of the season’s highlights, as fans eagerly watch his every move.
