How to get rid of rats and mice naturally with Vick Vaporub!

Using Vicks VapoRub as a rat repellent is a creative, simple, and non-toxic way to keep pests at bay without the use of harsh chemicals. Here’s a step-by-step guide to prepare and place this mixture for maximum effectiveness:

Ingredients Needed

Three Sugary Cookies: Crush these into a fine powder. The sweetness will attract the rats.
One Tablespoon of Baking Soda: Baking soda disrupts rats’ digestive systems, helping deter them from returning.
One Teaspoon of Vicks VapoRub: The menthol in Vicks has a strong scent that repels rats.

Preparation Instructions

Crush the Cookies: Start by finely crushing three sugary cookies until they become a powder. This scent will lure the rats toward the bait.
Mix Ingredients: Combine the cookie powder, baking soda, and Vicks VapoRub in a bowl. Knead the mixture into a dough-like consistency.
Form Small Balls: Divide the dough into two portions, rolling each half into a small ball.

Placement

Position these balls in areas where you’ve noticed rat activity, like near entry points, behind appliances, or in attics and basements. The scent will initially attract the rats, but they’ll quickly be repelled by the strong smell of menthol and the effects of baking soda.

Health Risks of Rats

Rats carry harmful diseases, including:

Leptospirosis: Spread through contact with rat urine.
Hantavirus and Lassa Fever: Can be contracted through inhaling particles from contaminated rat droppings and urine.

By keeping rats away, you’re helping prevent these health risks in your home.
