Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day made headlines when he said he was going to give up his U.S. citizenship after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade. Armstrong, who has been the lead singer of the band since 1987, was angry about U.S. politics at a concert in London Stadium and hinted that he might spend more time in Europe. He told his fans, “I’m not kidding,” and promised that they would see more of him soon.
In the same way, Olivia Rodrigo, the pop star, voiced her displeasure by dedicating a song to the justices who voted to overturn the decision and criticizing conservatives during her Glastonbury performance.
