The majority of living First Ladies came together to pay tribute to Jimmy Carter at his state funeral. They did so by offering heartfelt gestures and dressing elegantly.

Melania Trump stood out during the event by wearing a black coat dress by Valentino that featured a symbolic design. She paired it with pumps by Manolo Blahnik. Pearl jewelry was used to accessorize Jill Biden’s classic black Schiaparelli skirt suit, which featured gold accents around the waist.

In order to convey a sense of solidarity, Hillary Clinton wore a black pantsuit that was adorned with a patriotic eagle brooch. Laura Bush opted for a straightforward black dress that she paired with a pearl necklace. Due to a conflict in her schedule, Michelle Obama was noticeably absent from the event.

The presence of each First Lady was a manifestation of respect regarding their individual legacies.
