DA Fani Willis In Hot Water, Loses Legal Case Related To Trump Prosecution

A Georgia judge has ruled in favor of conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch, which is suing Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis to gain access to her office’s correspondence with Special Counsel Jack Smith and the House January 6 Committee.

Willis was hit with a default judgment by Judge Robert McBurney after her office failed to promptly respond to Judicial Watch’s request for open records. Willis must abide by Georgia’s open records laws and deliver the requested documents within five business days as a result of the ruling. As her office works to comply with the court’s ruling, Willis is under scrutiny due to this legal dispute.
