Woman who claimed to be Madeleine McCann reveals DNA results – and the answer might shock you

In 2023, Julia Wendell, a 23-year-old Polish woman, gained international attention by claiming to be Madeleine McCann, the British girl who disappeared from a Portuguese resort in 2007. Using the social media handle @IamMadeleineMcCann, Julia sought assistance and requested to communicate with Madeleine’s parents, Kate and Gerry McCann. She highlighted alleged physical similarities and even appeared on Dr. Phil to discuss her assertions. Facing significant backlash, including death threats, Julia later retracted her claims and apologized to the McCanns, explaining that therapy had led her to question her childhood memories, which she found to be fragmented. Her family’s dismissal of her concerns prompted her to search missing persons websites.

Recently, the situation has evolved. Julia, also known as Julia Faustyna or Julia Wandelt, claims to have undergone a DNA test analyzed by an unnamed expert. This expert reportedly compared her DNA to samples from the crime scene of Madeleine McCann’s 2007 disappearance and concluded that the results “strongly suggest” Gerry McCann could be her father. Julia shared these findings on a new social media account, alleging that her DNA shows partial British and Irish heritage. She also claims that her DNA is a “perfect match” with samples taken from the holiday apartment where Madeleine disappeared. Additionally, experts reportedly examined her eyes, teeth, and voice, comparing them to Madeleine’s.

Despite these claims, neither Julia’s Polish parents nor the McCanns have agreed to participate in DNA testing to confirm or refute the allegations. This stance contradicts earlier statements from private investigator Dr. Fia Johansson, who in 2023 revealed that Julia’s DNA results confirmed her full Polish heritage. Julia’s parents maintain that she is their biological daughter and has no connection to the missing British girl. Madeleine McCann’s disappearance remains one of the world’s most infamous unsolved cases. Her parents have consistently stated that she was abducted from their holiday apartment in Praia da Luz, Portugal, while they dined nearby.
