MSNBC Host Nicole Wallace Faces Backlash Over Controversial Remarks on Cancer Survivor

When Donald Trump honored a 13-year-old boy with brain cancer, Nicolle Wallace was chastised for bringing up the subject of “suicide.”
After US President Donald Trump honored a 13-year-old boy with brain cancer during his speech to a joint session of Congress, MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace came under fire for bringing up the subject of “suicide” in relation to the boy.

Since his 2018 diagnosis at the age of six, DJ Daniels has been undergoing treatment for cancer. The child still wants to be a police officer in spite of his health issue.

When Trump announced that the 13-year-old would be sworn in as an honorary Secret Service agent on Tuesday, he made reference to DJ in his emotional speech.

Republicans in the House gallery cheered “DJ” during the tearful moment as Director Sean Curran handed him his badge.

His goal has always been to work as a police officer. However, Trump stated that DJ was given a brain cancer diagnosis in 2018.

He disclosed that ever since that day, DJ and his father have been striving to realize his dream. “And we’re going to give you the greatest honor of all tonight, DJ.”

Nicolle Wallace criticizes the gesture made by Trump.
Social media users showered Trump with praise for satisfying DJ Daniels’ wish, but during his live speech, MSNBC hosts Rachel Maddow and Nicole Wallace unexpectedly scolded him.

Wallace claimed that although she gave herself permission to “feel joy” over Daniels’ moment in front of the country, her mind quickly shifted to something unpleasant and disturbing.

“I hope he lives the life he desires and that he survives for another 95 years.” Wallace started, “He knows what he wants to do, he wants to be a cop, and maybe when you have childhood cancer that crystallizes for you.”

The host then used the Capitol riots as an excuse to criticize Trump.

“I hope he never has to defend the United States capitol against Donald Trump’s supporters and if he does, I hope he isn’t one of the six who lose his life to suicide,” she said, wishing Daniels a long career in law enforcement.

As she continued her tirade against Trump, she expressed her hope that he would not be compelled to testify against those who had committed malicious conspiracy crimes and that Trump would show mercy to those who had done so.

Maddow, who appeared to be fighting back tears, criticized Trump for initially using Daniels.

The president made a show of congratulating a young man who has so far survived pediatric cancer, as if he had anything to do with it, she continued. “For the record, and this is disgusting,” she said.

When Trump praised Elon Musk’s DOGE for ceasing to fund “ongoing research into pediatric cancer,” Maddow took aim.

Democratic Representative Rashida Tlaib displayed a placard that read, “You cut cancer research.”

This is how the Internet responds to the comments made by MSNBC hosts.
When the video of their comments went viral on social media, Rachel Maddow and Nicole Wallace both received a great deal of criticism.

One X user commented, “Nicole Wallace, this chick on MSNBC, needs to be fired for expressing her hope that a 13-year-old cancer patient doesn’t commit suicide.”

“This is the most disgusting thing I’ve ever heard someone say. Nicole Wallace’s politicization of DJ’s predicament is outrageous. GO AWAY FROM THE KIDS ALONE! Someone else made a comment.

Nicole Wallace’s politicization of DJ Daniel, a 13-year-old boy battling brain cancer, is outrageous! You dare! She ought to be let go right away! Shameful! A third person wrote.

A fourth user wrote, “In reality, your dictator politicized him the moment he brought him as a prop to use to gain more favor among his cult followers.” “MSNBC’s Nicole Wallace politicizes,” the user said.

Another said, “But Nicole Wallace just hopes that boy doesn’t end up committing suicide because of Trump,” calling Wallace’s comments “beyond sick.” The user went on to say, “MSNBC must fire her.”

Some users, meanwhile, urged Maddow to “just shut up,” calling her comments “disgusting” and claiming that she should apologize to the DJ family.
