She never got your e-mail!”

A sailor had been away at sea for months and was eagerly awaiting letters from his loved ones. One day, after docking at port, he checked his email inbox, hoping to find a message from his fiancée. To his surprise, there was nothing—not a single message from her. Confused and a little hurt, he tried to brush it off, thinking maybe she had been busy.

But as the days passed and still no word came, his worries grew. Had something happened? Had she forgotten about him? Maybe she had second thoughts about their relationship. He decided to send another email, asking if everything was alright. Days passed, and still—nothing.

Frustrated, he finally called her father to find out what was going on. “Sir,” he said, trying to keep his voice steady, “I’ve been writing to your daughter for weeks, but I haven’t heard a word from her. Has something happened?”

Her father sighed, as if he had been expecting this call. “Son,” he said, “I had a long talk with my daughter, and as I expected, there’s a perfectly good explanation for this whole thing.”

The sailor leaned in, gripping the phone tightly. “This I’ve got to hear.”

Her father chuckled. “It was the thriestamistake.”

“The what?” the sailor asked, baffled.

“The three-est-a-mistake!” her father repeated.

“Sir, I’m not following…”

Her father sighed again. “Son, she never got your email!”

It turned out the sailor had been misspelling her email address the entire time, and all his heartfelt messages had been vanishing into cyberspace, never reaching her inbox. A simple typo had nearly cost them their relationship.

Laughing in relief, the sailor quickly corrected his mistake, sent a new email, and within minutes, received a reply. The misunderstanding was finally over—but not without a good lesson about double-checking your spelling!
