What the man did that left his wife dumbfounded..

After everyone had eaten, the man made the celebration into a farce. A component of marriage is the sharing of responsibilities as husband and wife. Of all the shared responsibilities, financial matters are always the most delicate. Due to their different financial perspectives, one couple’s relationship suddenly soured. To find out if her actions were wrong, the woman went to Reddit and asked other users. A happy evening was abruptly turned upside down when the man asked his wife to pay for dinner with his family. Even though it was his milestone supper, the woman felt it was inappropriate for him to assume she would pay for it.

They had always kept their money separate. They made the decision to keep their money separate for the last three years of their marriage. The arrangement worked for them at first, but it became problematic during the husband’s celebration. When the woman’s spouse received a bonus at work, he was ecstatic. In order to celebrate his accomplishment, he invited his entire family to join him at a restaurant.

The man had been in charge of the restaurant, the food and drink orders, and every little detail in between. They celebrated the man’s professional achievement with a fun-filled evening. However, the woman was surprised when she got the bill. She expected her husband to cover the cost of the outing because they were celebrating his bonus. Her husband handed her the bill and said, “Take care of it.” He reasoned that she would be delighted to assist with the celebrations as a token of appreciation for the congrats.

The man claimed his wife was furious. Her husband went on to describe her as “visibly bitter” following their altercation at the restaurant. Even when her husband asked her to pay, she refused, thinking it was ridiculous that he was expecting her to pay for the meals his whole family was enjoying on this special day. To make matters worse, the man admitted that he still hadn’t gotten his bonus. He begged his wife to pay for the meals, saying he would pay her back once he was paid.

The woman paid for her lunch because she was tired. She had angered her husband and his whole family. The noise level at the restaurant was so high that she decided to go home alone. She was inundated with unsolicited calls from the man’s family after the incident. Additionally, it was clear that the man and woman had a tense relationship at home. They continued to disagree about what happened after the man got home. He said he would pay for the [expletive] meals after taking me and my family out to celebrate my achievements if the roles were reversed and I got a bonus, she wrote.

Internet users sided with the woman. She was surprised by the number of responses she received after posting a request for help online. After being reassured by others that everything was fine, she shared the answers with her husband. Ultimately, it did more harm than good. The husband became defensive after seeing all of the criticism online, so when the wife showed him the comments, they became more combative.

Additionally, he chastised the woman for allegedly omitting certain information from the story. He said he wanted Reddit users to be aware that his wife was paid more than he was, but his wife retorted that the pay gap was only a small one. “This was intentional manipulation,” a user wrote. Not to mention that his family now hates her if they fight and argue in front of them. According to someone else, it is very challenging to deal with when dating, but it becomes even more challenging after marriage. In light of the situation, some people questioned the husband’s ability to manage his finances.

The biggest red flag, in my opinion, is that he apparently COULD NOT pay for everyone, considering that they were all arguing over who would be responsible for paying. “That suggests a serious lack of financial planning right there,” one commenter said. Do you think the woman’s actions were incorrect? How would you have reacted if the situation had been the same for you? In a related story, Reddit users suggested that a woman should think twice before becoming engaged to a man who insisted on billing her for regular dinners with his friends.
