Carrie Underwood faces backlash over audition habit – American Idol viewers are calling her out

Carrie Underwood’s participation in the singing competition show has continued to draw criticism from American Idol viewers.

After singer Katy Perry spent seven seasons on the show, the former winner returned as a judge in Season 23.

Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie, who have been judges on the show since Season 16, are her co-stars.

In order to evaluate talent on American Idol, each of the three judges contributes their distinct viewpoints from the music business.

It’s an emotional comeback for Carrie to the TV program that started her wildly popular music career years ago.

Fans and co-stars, however, have taken issue with a number of her participation in the American Idol auditions.

Carrie demonstrated her clogging prowess in an Idol video.
Carrie has made an emotional comeback to the location that paved the way for her musical success and fame. But her comeback comes months after she made headlines with her performance at President Donald Trump’s inauguration at the White House.

Rumor had it that American Idol cast members were told not to bring up Carrie’s inauguration performance in front of the singer, as was previously reported.

In order to keep things “lighthearted” and make Carrie feel at ease, an insider also claimed that the set was “tense.”

Carrie continues to have fun with the contestants during auditions as episodes of Season 23, which debuted on ABC earlier this month, continue to air.

The former show winner was seen clogging with an auditioning contestant in a new teaser clip for the Sunday, March 22 episode. Before the contestant’s performance concludes, she spins around.

“Have you been sandbagging us?” After observing her movements, Luke asked his co-star.

“My secret talent was revealed to you all!” Carrie yelled, saying that performance was the first time she had ever done this.

She joked, “Not the toilet,” after telling Luke that she had “been around so much clogging.”

Carrie and an auditioning contestant sang along to a portion of a song in another clip. But that competitor, Landry Champlin, sang one of Carrie’s songs, “Good Girl.”

During some of the auditions, viewers may also catch Carrie mouthing lyrics. Her co-star Luke referred to her as “literally a country music jukebox” because of her vast repertoire of songs from the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s, according to Taste of Country.

Supporters demand that Carrie cease her Season 23 performances.

Several fans vented their annoyance at Carrie during the auditions in the American Idol clogging video’s comment section.

“Carrie, you already won American Idol, but we still love you.” We don’t have to watch you perform with contestants all the time. “Go ahead and let them do it!” a fan wrote in the comments.

During auditions, Carrie’s co-stars Luke and Lionel also criticized her for a bad habit. The American Idol stars said she should be more strict with her judging because she was too lenient in allowing contestants to advance to the next round of performances.

As the season goes on, she will continue to gain more judging experience, but some viewers of the show already seem impatient with her participation.
