Donald Trump issues furious warning to Zelensky

Donald Trump’s long-promised peace deal between Ukraine and Russia remains elusive—and it appears the U.S. president’s patience has finally run out. In an explosive new statement that’s causing waves on social media and throughout diplomatic circles, Trump has dramatically escalated his rhetoric against Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Throughout his campaign, Trump confidently claimed he could end the conflict in Ukraine “within 24 hours.” Yet months into his presidency, the war continues to rage, and Trump’s frustration with the stalled peace process is now boiling over.

Late last night, Trump took to Truth Social, delivering a blistering ultimatum directly to Zelensky: reach a settlement now—or risk losing everything.

“He can have Peace or, he can fight for another three years before losing the whole Country,” Trump bluntly warned. He sharply criticized Zelensky’s latest statement to The Wall Street Journal, where the Ukrainian leader refused to “legally recognize” Russia’s occupation of Crimea. Trump declared Zelensky’s comments “very harmful to the Peace Negotiations,” insisting that Crimea’s status was a settled matter, “lost years ago under the auspices of President Barack Hussein Obama.”

“Nobody is asking Zelenskyy to recognize Crimea as Russian Territory,” Trump continued, visibly exasperated, “but, if he wants Crimea, why didn’t they fight for it eleven years ago when it was handed over to Russia without a shot being fired?” He accused Zelensky of making “inflammatory statements” and “boasting” despite Ukraine’s precarious position.

Doubling down on his ultimatum, Trump underscored the urgency of the situation, declaring bluntly: “We are very close to a Deal, but the man with ‘no cards to play’ should now, finally, GET IT DONE.”

Highlighting the brutal human cost of the ongoing conflict, Trump added, “I have nothing to do with Russia, but have much to do with wanting to save, on average, five thousand Russian and Ukrainian soldiers a week, who are dying for no reason whatsoever.”

Trump’s fiery comments align with his administration’s increasingly tough stance. Earlier that day in Paris, Secretary of State Marco Rubio warned reporters that the U.S. was prepared to “walk away” from peace talks entirely if progress wasn’t made soon.

“We are now reaching a point where we need to decide whether this is even possible or not,” Rubio stated bluntly. “If it’s not, then I think we’re just going to move on. It’s not our war.”

The stakes rose further after U.S. officials abruptly withdrew from a critical peace summit planned in London, reportedly due to Ukraine’s refusal to yield to key American demands—particularly, conceding territories to Russia. Instead, Trump’s special peace envoy, Steve Witkoff, headed directly to Moscow to speak with Russian President Vladimir Putin, signaling a stark shift in diplomatic strategy.

This sudden change in tone has deeply unsettled key U.S. allies, with British officials reportedly blindsided by the White House’s abrupt tactics. One unnamed British minister vented to the Daily Mail, “The US are f***ing up everything—on Ukraine, on tariffs, on everything.”

Former UK Defence Secretary Ben Wallace echoed the dismay, delivering a scathing criticism of the Trump administration: “The next war will happen not because of Ukraine’s actions but because of Donald Trump and his red-neck team of Walter Mittys, media pundits, and real estate salesmen who fail to understand the world we live in.”

As tensions rise and alliances strain, the world watches nervously, waiting to see whether Trump’s stark ultimatum to Zelensky will drive Ukraine and Russia closer to peace—or push the conflict into a dangerous new phase.
