I Secretly Fed My Vegan Sister’s Kids Meat — She Banned Me From All Family Events

Kate, 38, contacted us to ask for guidance following a family-shattering argument with her vegan sister.

Despite leading different lives, the sisters had always been close. As a sign of respect for her sister’s veganism, Kate raised her two kids, ages six and eight, vegan but willing to eat meat if they so desired.

When Kate’s kids requested tacos during a sleepover at her house, she gave them meat because her niece and nephew also requested tacos. In jest, she advised them not to tell their mother about it. When her sister learned of it the following morning, she became enraged and accused Kate of betraying her and disobeying her convictions.

In addition to straining their relationship, the argument damaged Kate’s reputation with their parents, who forbade her from attending family gatherings. She tried to apologize, but her sister didn’t seem to care. Kate asked readers for suggestions on how to patch things up because she missed her family.
