In Tepic, Nayarit, three women lost their lives this morning while driving on the Tepic-Mazatlán freeway at the San Blas intersection, close to the town of El Jicote. The accident resulted in injuries to another person.
Officials say the driver of a red Nissan Versa with four passengers got into the wrong lane and collided with a three-ton refrigerated truck.
The three women in the Nissan Versa perished instantly in the collision because of the powerful impact. Elva Karina “N,” Irma Leticia “N,” and Yolanda Leticia “N,” who were originally from Santiago Ixcuintla and Rosamorada, were identified as teachers at the Rosamorada Technical Secondary School.
The driver of the Versa was identified as Gilberto “N,” who was most likely the director of the school.
After being hurt, Gilberto was brought to a nearby hospital to receive treatment.
