Trump hits back after Iranian official threatens attack at Mar-a-Lago

Donald Trump has dismissed an odd and disturbing comment made by a Supreme Leader of Iran advisor, who made a joke on national television about the president being targeted by a drone while lounging at Mar-a-Lago.

“Trump is no longer able to enjoy Mar-a-Lago sunbathing.”
Mohammad-Javad Larijani, a senior advisor to Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, made the remark on July 9 during an Iranian TV broadcast. According to The Independent, Larijani chuckled while talking about Iran’s military technology and pictured Trump being hit by a microdrone while he was unwinding.

He declared, “Trump can no longer take a sunbath in Mar-a-Lago.” “Because a micro-drone could target him while he’s lying down and hit him squarely in the navel.”

Even though Larijani seemed to back down from the threat by adding, “Of course, we fight like men,” the statement garnered attention in the United States and was included in a Fox News interview with Trump.

“It’s been a long time,” Trump deadpanned when host Peter Doocy asked him when he had last taken a sunbath. I may have been around seven years old. I’m not very interested in it.

Then he casually brushed Larijani’s comment aside, saying, “I suppose it’s a threat.” In reality, I’m positive it poses no threat, but it might.

Iran’s remarks follow a U.S. operation in June that targeted three critical nuclear sites, and Trump’s confirmation that he would “absolutely” consider launching another strike on Iran.

Trump said, “Sure, without question,” in response to a reporter’s question about whether he would bomb the nation once more if intelligence revealed concerning uranium enrichment. Without a doubt, it must be unbelievable.

“The last thing they’re thinking about right now is nuclear,” he continued, characterizing both Israel and Iran as “exhausted.” Do you know what’s on their mind? They are attempting to live while considering tomorrow.

The U.S. Secret Service responded to Larijani’s comments with a brief statement to Newsweek, declining to comment on specific protective intelligence: “The President’s and all of our protectees’ safety and security continue to be our top priorities in a highly dynamic and elevated threat environment.”
