Husband his wife on honeymoon after he refuses to …See more

What began as a honeymoon in the serene hills of Shillong ended in cold-blooded murder and betrayal.

On May 20, Raja Raghuvanshi, a businessman, arrived in the picturesque city with his newlywed wife, Sonam. Just days later, Raja’s lifeless body was discovered in a secluded ravine—decomposed, stripped of his ID, his wedding ring gone.

At first, investigators pointed to Raj Kushwaha, a man believed to be romantically involved with Sonam. But as authorities dug deeper, a far more disturbing picture emerged: Sonam wasn’t just involved—she orchestrated the entire crime.

According to police, Sonam deceived Raj with promises of love and enticed him to join her murderous plot. She then recruited three more men—Vishal Singh, Anand Kurmi, and Akash Rajput—allegedly offering them financial incentives to kill her husband.

Using GPS data, Sonam helped track Raja’s whereabouts and directed the group’s movements. Between May 23 and 24, Raja was likely ambushed and pushed to his death from the hillside gorge.

The betrayal didn’t end there.

Raj, having returned to Indore, expected to be with Sonam after the murder. But she had already moved on—romantically involved with yet another man—and was reportedly planning to eliminate Raj next.

The turning point came with digital evidence. Phone records linked Sonam to the entire conspiracy. On June 8, she was arrested and later confessed to masterminding the killing.
