Teenager dies after crashing into school bus; then police find what she was holding.

Police discover what the teen was holding after she dies after colliding with a school bus.

A tragic school bus accident that claimed a young life has caused a great deal of trouble in Panola County.

According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol, a driver struck a South Panola School bus Wednesday morning at approximately 7:15 a.m.

Katelyn Ray’s family has confirmed that she is the victim.

The accident occurred when Ray’s vehicle collided with the rear of a South Panola School bus on Highway 15 close to Highway 6 in Panola County.

Ray was on her way to pick up her older sister from work when this tragic incident occurred. Katelyn’s final conversation with her mother, Shelia Ray, ended in a heartbreaking farewell. It was a straightforward display of familial love and affection.

Shelia Ray conveyed her surprise at the subsequent development as she recounted the events. Katelyn’s family became even more concerned when they encountered an odd silence when they attempted to contact her.

When the highway patrol called with the devastating news that Katelyn had been in a serious car accident, the agonizing wait came to an end.

According to Mississippi Highway Patrol officials, Katelyn Ray’s vehicle struck the rear of the school bus with great force during the collision.

Because of the sequence of events, the family became even more concerned when Katelyn failed to arrive at her sister’s workplace by 7:30 a.m. Courtney Pettit, the victim’s sister, expressed the mounting concern and questioned Katelyn’s whereabouts during those pivotal moments.

Unsure of what to do, Courtney Pettit resorted to social media, posting a heartfelt message on Facebook requesting any information regarding her sister who had gone missing.

While searching frantically for their loved one, the family received the heartbreaking news of the accident on the Panola County highways.

Stephanie Pettit, Katelyn’s aunt, talked about the family’s sadness and how difficult it is to imagine what was going on before the crash.

Katelyn was a lively and gregarious person who was taking GED classes at the WIN Job Center and was proud to be an aunt.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol is in charge of the crash investigation, and the community of Panola County is still grieving the loss of a young life.

The death of Katelyn Ray, who had only received her driver’s license two months prior to the horrific accident, has left the close-knit community in mourning.
