Put raw ground beef in a slow cooker with these 4 ingredients. It’s comfort food perfection.

Comfort food has long had a special place in family kitchens throughout the Midwest’s heartland. Warmth, simplicity, and tradition are the foundations of the meals here, which are surrounded by endless fields and the heady scent of freshly turned soil. That spirit is embodied in this 5-ingredient Slow Cooker Beef and Cheese Pasta, which is simple, filling, and ideal for getting together at the table after a long day.

The dish is perfect for hectic weeknights when you still want to serve something homemade and filling because it only requires five basic ingredients. It combines well-known flavors in a simple way with ground beef, pasta, marinara sauce, mozzarella cheese, and Italian seasoning.

Just cook the ground beef in a skillet until it is browned, then drain the fat. Next, put the cooked beef in a slow cooker with the marinara, uncooked pasta, and seasoning. Cook on low for 4 to 5 hours, or until the pasta is flavorful and soft. Top with shredded mozzarella and allow to melt into a cheesy blanket about half an hour before serving.

This dish, which feeds six people, has that warm, nostalgic taste that is frequently connected to family meals and cherished memories. Because of its ease of use and consistent results, this dish appeals to both novices and experienced home cooks.

Do you want to customize it? Spice can be added with a dash of red pepper flakes or chopped jalapeños, and the flavor profile can be altered by switching out the cheeses for something like cheddar or an Italian blend. To make it heartier and more nutrient-dense, you can also add sautéed vegetables like bell peppers or mushrooms.

Just before serving, stir in some sour cream or cream cheese for an even creamier version. No matter how you alter it, this dish offers a comforting, familiar taste of home that is simple to prepare and difficult to avoid.
