A lot is going on with the Donald Trump family—and one recent statement is stirring up serious speculation. In early October, his son Eric Trump made waves on television, claiming political adversaries were trying to orchestrate a “divorce” between Trump and Melania Trump.
He appeared on Rob Schmitt Tonight (on Newsmax) and said:
“They came after me like I was a dog… They tried to impeach my father two times… They tried to get him divorced; they tried to separate our family.”
Among the accusations: that Trump’s campaign was spied on, that the legal and media attacks on him were part of an effort to dismantle his power, and that the alleged “divorce plot” was tied to the infamous dossier compiled by Christopher Steele. Eric described the dossier as “paid for by Hillary Clinton… you better believe their intent is to divide a marriage.”
The remarks come amid mounting scrutiny of the First Couple’s relationship. A viral video of Trump and Melania aboard Marine One showed a tense exchange, though forensic lip-readers later said the conversation was about the UN escalator incident. Still, the marriage rumor mill is in full gear.
Meanwhile, the 2022 FBI raid at the Trump estate in Mar‑a‑Lago is also referenced by Eric. “They raided his home… they raided Melania’s closet… they raided 16-year-old Barron’s room,” he said, framing the attacks as personal and systematic. Melania herself called the raid an “invasion of privacy.”
No concrete evidence has yet surfaced to fully back up the divorce claim Eric made, but the statement is one of the most direct acknowledgements from the family of pressure on their marriage.
What’s your take—just political theatrics or something deeper at play behind closed doors?
