Former “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” Actor Floyd Roger Myers Jr. Dies at 42

Fans are mourning the tragic loss of actor Floyd Roger Myers Jr., best known for his roles in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and The Jacksons: An American Dream. Myers passed away at just 42 years old after suffering a heart attack at his home in Maryland on October 29.

According to his mother, Renee Trice, the beloved actor died early Wednesday morning.

A Familiar Face from the ’90s

Myers first captured national attention in 1992 when he portrayed a young Will Smith in a memorable Season 3 episode of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. That same year, he appeared as young Marlon Jackson in the award-winning mini-series The Jacksons: An American Dream, which chronicled the rise of the legendary Jackson family.

He continued his acting career into the early 2000s, appearing in the WB teen drama Young Americans — one of his final on-screen roles.

A Devoted Father and Community Leader

Outside of acting, Myers was known for his heart and dedication to others. He co-founded The Fellaship Men’s Group, a community organization devoted to helping men “lead, heal, and thrive.”

The group honored him in a moving Instagram tribute:

“RIP to our good brother @rocwonder, one of our co-founders. Gone but never forgotten. The mission will continue in your honor… Love you bro, rest easy — big bro will take it from here.”

Remembered by Family

Myers leaves behind four children — Taelyn, Kinsley, Tyler, and Knox — who were the center of his world. His sister, Tyree Trice, launched a GoFundMe campaign to help the family with funeral expenses, describing him as:

“A devoted father, loving brother, and friend whose kindness, laughter, and warmth touched everyone he met.”

His mother, Renee Trice, also expressed her heartbreak on Facebook, sharing a photo of Myers with his children and writing:

“This is not supposed to be so.”

Final Goodbye

A funeral service for Floyd Roger Myers Jr. is scheduled for Monday, November 3, in Maryland.

Fans, friends, and former colleagues continue to share their condolences and memories of the actor whose early performances left a lasting impression on television audiences.

Myers will be remembered for his talent, generosity, and devotion to his family and community.

“RIP Floyd Meyers, Jr. Gone way too soon! God bless his family and friends during this terrible time in their lives.”
