MASSIVE ACCIDENT Just happened 33 people …

In the early hours of Wednesday morning, tragedy struck along Highway 57 in the Hermanas–Sabinas section, near kilometer 68. A passenger bus identified as unit 9132, traveling from Ciudad Acuña toward Gómez Palacio, Durango, overturned, leaving at least one person dead and several others injured — including a child now fighting for his life.

Among the most critically hurt is a minor named Jairo, who was rushed to Clinic 7 of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) in Monclova. Doctors describe his condition as delicate, and his family is anxiously waiting for updates. At least five additional passengers suffered injuries of varying severity.

Authorities are still working to determine what caused the bus to lose control. Investigators remain on-scene, gathering evidence and speaking with survivors to piece together the moments leading up to the crash. Families of the victims have begun arriving at nearby hospitals, searching for answers and hoping for encouraging news.

This was not the only accident reported in the region. On Tuesday night, around 10 p.m., a separate crash occurred on the Gómez Palacio–Cuencamé Highway near Raymundo Park in Lerdo, Durango. A vehicle collided with a light pole and a concrete base, rolling over and coming to rest upside down. Emergency crews responded quickly, though the extent of the injuries from that incident is still being confirmed.

Both events have placed the communities of Coahuila and Durango on edge, highlighting the dangers faced by travelers during overnight and high-speed highway routes. As investigations continue, families wait, hoping the next call brings relief instead of more sorrow.
