People are losing it at Trump’s reaction as guest collapses in the Oval Office during press conference

Donald Trump’s Reaction to Oval Office Collapse During Dr. Oz’s Speech Sparks Online Debate

On Thursday, during a White House press event led by Dr. Mehmet Oz, an unexpected medical emergency interrupted the proceedings — and President Donald Trump’s reaction has since gone viral.

The Collapse During Dr. Oz’s Speech

As Dr. Oz, now serving as Trump’s administrator for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, addressed the Oval Office on the administration’s new plan to lower the cost of weight-loss drugs, one of the guests suddenly collapsed. The incident occurred behind the Resolute Desk as cameras were rolling.

“Press out,” officials were heard shouting as security and medical staff rushed in. The identity of the individual was initially unclear, though White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt later confirmed that the person was “okay.”

“The White House Medical Unit quickly jumped into action, and the gentleman is okay,” Leavitt stated.

Confusion Over Who Collapsed

Early reports speculated that Gordon Findlay, an executive from Novo Nordisk — the company behind Ozempic, Rybelsus, and Wegovy — had fainted. However, the company clarified that only CEO Mike Doustdar and EVP Dave Moore were present at the event. It was later confirmed that the individual who fainted was from Eli Lilly, another major pharmaceutical company.

David Ricks, Eli Lilly’s chair and CEO, later told ABC News:

“If you’ve ever been in the Oval Office, you stand a long time and it’s warm. I’m pleased to say that the White House medical staff did a great job, and he’s doing great, so nothing to be concerned about.”

Trump’s Reaction Goes Viral

As Dr. Oz and others attended to the man on the floor, images surfaced showing Donald Trump standing behind his desk, watching the scene unfold. Those moments quickly circulated online, sparking a flood of commentary and memes.

“Just replace the guy on the floor with America and we have the perfect painting for 2025,” one Reddit user quipped.

Another joked, “[Trump’s] not scripted for dynamic events. It’ll be better to just restart the quest so you don’t corrupt your save.”

Others were more critical: “This photo perfectly encapsulates the Trump admin in 2025. Humans empathetic for someone in trouble, while Trump stands by vaguely annoyed that it isn’t about him.”

Press Conference Resumes

The event was briefly paused as the medical team tended to the fallen guest. Once the situation was under control, reporters were allowed back in. Trump addressed the incident directly, assuring everyone that the individual had recovered.

“You saw he went down, and he’s fine. We just sent him out and he’s got doctor’s care, but he’s fine,” Trump said. “So we had a little bit of an interruption.”

The conference then continued, focusing on the administration’s weight-loss drug cost-reduction plan. Still, online discussions remain centered less on policy — and more on the viral image of the moment that stole the show.
