Forensic expert spots ‘significant’ sign in Renee Good’s hands before she was shot dead by ICE agent

Renee Nicole Good was shot and killed by an ICE agent as she was driving home after dropping her young son off at school. The 37-year-old mother of three was pronounced dead at the scene, and her killing has continued to send shockwaves across the United States and beyond. Now, a forensic expert says there is a crucial detail visible in the moments just before she was shot — something held in plain sight.

The death of Renee Nicole Good has ignited widespread grief, anger, and protests. Since the January 7 shooting in Minneapolis, demonstrations have erupted in multiple cities, with critics questioning both the actions of the immigration officer involved and the official response that followed.

While public outrage has grown, the Trump administration has largely stood by the agent. Former President Donald Trump himself drew sharp criticism after posting on Truth Social shortly after the killing, placing blame on Good and those with her at the scene.

“I have just viewed the clip of the event which took place in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It is a horrible thing to watch,” Trump wrote. “The woman screaming was, obviously, a professional agitator, and the woman driving the car was very disorderly, obstructing, and resisting, who then violently, wilfully, and viciously ran over the ICE Officer, who seems to have shot her in self-defense.”

Those comments sparked immediate backlash, particularly as federal officials continued to characterize Good as a threat. Several government figures, including the Secretary of Homeland Security, described her as a “domestic terrorist,” asserting that she instigated the confrontation by attempting to strike the ICE agent with her vehicle.

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey publicly rejected that narrative. After reviewing the video himself, he stated bluntly, “They’re already trying to spin this as an action of self-defense. Having seen the video myself, I want to tell everybody directly — that is bulls**t.”

As the case has grown into a political flashpoint, attention has turned to the video footage capturing Good’s final moments. A forensic analyst known online as Dr. G recently reviewed the recordings and shared his assessment, focusing specifically on Good’s hands and the movement of her vehicle.

According to the expert, the video shows Renee turning her steering wheel to the left, with her tires already angled in that direction. He says this positioning strongly suggests she was preparing to leave the scene, not advance toward anyone. Dr. G also pointed out that the vehicle’s brake and reverse lights were visible, indicating she was attempting to back up and escape the confrontation when possible.

Despite the stress of the encounter and the likely surge of adrenaline, the expert noted that Good appeared composed rather than aggressive. In his analysis, her actions reflected a desire to get away, not to confront or harm the officers.

As the situation escalated, Good’s wife attempted to enter the vehicle from the passenger side while an ICE agent pulled on the driver’s side door. Dr. G described this moment as placing Good in a “flight response,” triggering her instinct to flee rather than fight.

One detail stood out to him in particular: Good attempted to reverse the car while her wife’s hand was still gripping the locked door handle. According to the expert, this suggests she was not fully aware of everything happening around her — a sign of panic and confusion, not calculated aggression.

He further explained that when Good shifted out of reverse and began moving forward, she started turning the steering wheel again. At that moment, the tires were briefly pointing straight ahead because she had not yet completed the turn. This, he argues, undermines claims that she deliberately aimed the vehicle at the agent.

In Dr. G’s view, the subtle movements of Good’s hands on the steering wheel tell a clear story: she was trying to drive away from danger. The expert maintains that the physical evidence in the video aligns with a person attempting to escape a frightening situation, not someone launching an attack.

As investigations continue and public debate intensifies, these forensic observations have added new fuel to questions surrounding the shooting — and to the growing calls for accountability in a case that has already left a family shattered and a nation divided.
