My Groom Threw Me Into the Pool—Then Dad Ended the Celebration

Dylan still believed I would reconsider because we had exchanged vows. What he had forgotten was that there was no completed marriage license.

I had wanted to finalize and file the paperwork after our honeymoon, when the rush was over. The officiant had therefore conducted a ceremonial service, but nothing legally binding had been submitted. There would be no divorce, only canceled reservations and returned gifts.

Dad looked at Dylan across the study. “You lost a wife, your job, and the respect people were ready to give you. That wasn’t an accident. It was a decision.”
