Child band The Graystones cover Eagles’ “I Can’t Tell You Why,” becoming instant YouTube sensations
The Eagles remain one of the most celebrated and influential rock acts in history, widely recognized for their timeless sound, complex harmonies, and intricate musical arrangements. It might seem highly unlikely that a group of children could capture the sophisticated essence of such a legendary track, yet the young band known as The Graystones has achieved exactly that. Their masterful cover of the iconic 1980 hit “I Can’t Tell You Why” has become a massive internet phenomenon, drawing in an impressive 2.7 million views on YouTube.
Since its initial release in May 2025, the video has resonated deeply with global audiences, accumulating over 97,000 likes and more than 6,000 individual comments from highly impressed listeners. The Graystones consists of five exceptionally talented members: vocalist and keyboardist Izzy, guitarist Ishaan, bassist Max, keyboardist Harin, and drummer Grayson. While most of the band members are twelve years old, the group’s guitarist, Ishaan, is currently eleven. Despite their young age, their collective musical ability and technical precision far exceed what one might expect, showcasing a level of talent that rivals seasoned professional musicians.
The performance begins with a brief, playful, and energetic introduction before the group settles into a remarkably professional and polished rendition of the classic song. The visual contrast between their youthful appearance and their mastery of music from a previous generation is striking and provides a unique viewing experience.
