The troupe had already built a substantial performance history beyond competitive events. Its members have appeared at Walt Disney World and aboard cruise ships, while Kelly Clarkson’s TV program has also featured them. Another television opportunity came when the Emerald Belles competed during season 14 of “America’s Got Talent.”

For that show, the dancers presented a comparable routine shaped around high kicks. Every member was between 14 and 18 years old at the time. Although the group advanced to the quarterfinals, it was eliminated at that stage. Its audition offered another example of the team producing optical effects entirely through dance while performing its characteristic kicks.
