DONALD Trump pays tribute to Melania’s late mother: ‘An incredible woman’

In a somber tribute, Donald Trump took to his social media platform to honor his late mother-in-law, Amalija Knavs, who passed away at the age of 78. Describing it as a “very sad night for the entire Trump family,” Trump fondly remembered Knavs as a “great and beautiful mother” and “an incredible woman.” The heartfelt message was accompanied by a poignant photo of the two together.

Melania Trump, expressing “deep sadness,” also shared the news on Twitter/X, following Trump’s earlier mention of Knavs’ serious illness during a New Year’s event. Amalija and her husband Viktor had a close relationship with the Trumps, residing in New York and occasionally staying at the White House during Donald Trump’s presidency.

Born in Austria and raised in Slovenia, Knavs initially worked in a textile factory. She later moved to the United States and achieved citizenship in 2018. Amalija and Viktor were parents to two daughters, Ines and Melania. The latter, marrying Donald Trump in 2005, has been a prominent figure in the Trump family. The passing of Amalija Knavs marks a poignant moment for the Trumps, celebrating her life and the significant role she played in their family’s journey.
