My grandma, the sweetest and most loving person, went to a local high-end boutique to find a special dress for my wedding. What happened next left me fuming.

When Gran walked into the shop, the assistant, with a sneer, looked her up and down. “Can I help you?” she asked, dripping with condescension. Gran, always polite, smiled and said, “Yes, I’m looking for a dress for my granddaughter’s wedding.”

The assistant raised an eyebrow and smirked. “For you? Good luck finding something that won’t look like a tent. Our dresses are for more modern figures. But go ahead, knock yourself out.”

Gran felt hurt but decided to browse anyway. She found a lovely dress and asked if they had it in her size. The assistant laughed harshly. “Oh, honey, we don’t carry sizes that big. Maybe try a store that specializes in plus-size.”

Gran pointed to another dress and asked, “What about this one?” The assistant sighed dramatically. “Look, we don’t have anything for someone as old and overweight as you. Maybe you should try losing some weight before embarrassing yourself.”

Gran was mortified and left the shop feeling humiliated. She didn’t want to tell me, but I could see she was very upset. After some coaxing, she finally told me everything. I was livid. No one treats my grandma like that and gets away with it. So, I hatched a plan.

I found the shop owner, Danielle, on social media and sent her a message explaining the situation. Danielle was appalled and thanked me for bringing it to her attention. She decided to give the shop assistant a taste of her own medicine.

Danielle asked her own grandmother to visit the shop, wearing her shabbiest clothes and pretending to be a customer. The assistant, Nicole, treated Danielle’s grandma with the same rudeness she had shown my Gran. Just as Nicole was about to shoo her out, Danielle walked in. Nicole was fired on the spot. Danielle apologized profusely to her Grams and my Gran, even offering a discount for all the trouble.
